BALA CYNWYD: Back from Battle - The Forgotten Story of Pennsylvania's Camp Discharge and the Weary Civil War Soldiers It Served
Listen as author Jim Remsen and Brad Upp tell the nearly forgotten story of the Union Army's Camp Discharge, located on what is now part of the grounds of the Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne. Accounts woven together through military and medical records, as well as diaries and newspapers, tell of where hundreds of Civil War soldiers, many wounded, spent their last days in uniform before returning to civilian life.
