Gladwyne - Art Exhibition: (Local Landscapes)

Local Landscapes, brought to the library by Alice Dustin

This show is a collection of local scenes including paintings of Saunders Woods and idlewild Farm in Gladwyne, woods and streams along the trails, the pond at Haverford College, streets in Wynnewood, a corner of Chanticleer, the countryside nearby, and even a bit of the farmers' market in Ardmore. Many are painted on site, many others from references in my studio.

The show will run at the Gladwyne Library from May 2nd through June 29th. The gallery is on display during the libraries hours of operations. The Reception will be on Saturday, May 14th from 2-4pm. Held outdoors(weather permitting) in the rear of the library building. A rain date will be announced if required.

About the Author:
Alice Dustin
Alice has been a professional artist since 2000, exhibited work in galleries since then. Her paintings have been in galleries in France, in New York, Pennsylvania, Flordia, Delaware, Conneticut, and New Jersey. Previously, Alice taught both French and English as a foreign language in public and private schools in the area from nursery school to university courses, both in the suburbs and the inner city. Rather late in life they attended circus school and performed in school shows and once in the Philly Fringe Festival (on the trapeze). Mother of two and grandmother of four.
As far as education goes, Ph.D in Romance languages and literature from the university of Pennsylvania, a M.A.T. from Harvard University, and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College. Alice has taken art classes at various local institutions including PAFA and Fleisher Art Memorial and taught oil painting at Main Line School night for over 20 years.
