Gladwyne - Youth Clay Tile Self-Portrait Workshop
This creative, hands-on workshop is designed for kids ages 8–14. Young artists will design self-portraits on clay tiles using carving, stamping, and underglaze painting to express their identities and personal stories. Each child’s tile will become part of a larger art installation, showing how libraries bring together many unique voices in a shared space for learning.
Guided by the theme of Literacy & Liberty, children will explore the stories and ideas that matter most to them, whether it’s a favorite book, a family tradition, or something they’re passionate about. When displayed together, these tiles will celebrate each child’s perspective and highlight the library’s role as a place for creativity, learning, and community. Registration is required. You MUST register each child separately.
This program has been made possible by the Philadelphia Funder Collaborative for the Semiquincentennial.
