Ludington: "Stanzas in the Stacks": A 12-Week Poetry Workshop
This is an informal poetry education and workshop class for adults.
The workshop will meet once a week to explore poetic techniques (such as metaphor and imagery), poetic forms (such as odes and elegies), and literary movements (such as formalism and the Beat Generation). Each session will include a generative writing activity based on a prompt related to the day's topic. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their work and receive feedback, if they wish.
This program offers opportunities for entertainment, enrichment, and lifelong learning. It provides a welcoming space for aspiring poets to ask questions about all aspects of poetry, including writing, revision, and publishing.
No prior writing experience is necessary.
Presenter: Katherine Orfinger is a published poet with a background in teaching.
