●      Fiction (a make-believe story)

●      Non-Fiction (a true story)

●      Poetry (rhymed or unrhymed verse)

Make sure to follow these Rules

●       The contest is open to children in grades One through Five.

●       Only one category and one entry per child;  (no shared entries).

●       Use letter size paper (8 1/2” x 11”) with a left-hand margin.

●       Do not write your name on your work. Write your name only on the ENTRY FORM and staple together.

●       Entries should be typed or neatly handwritten.  For grades 3, 4 and 5, entries should be limited to 5 typed pages.

●       Entries must be received by Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at the Gladwyne Library by

3:00 p.m. (362 Righters Mill Road, Gladwyne, PA  19035).

●       Use your best grammar and remember to be creative.

●       Entry must be a recent original work of the child submitting the entry.

●       Illustrations are permitted, but judging will not be based upon them.

Entries not meeting the requirements may not be accepted.

Important Note

All children who participate are invited to attend the annual Junior Author Awards Ceremony on Wednesday,  March 22nd, at 6:30 pm at the Lower Merion HS Auditorium (Snow Date week of March 27th), ONLY winners in First, Second, third and honorable mention will be notified by March 8th, 2023. Winning entries will be bound and housed in the Gladwyne Free Library.
